Wallabee - A History

You might be new around these parts. You might hear some of the veterans talk about how hard they had it. Foraging in the night, in their pajamas, in the snow… UPHILL BOTH WAYS! But seriously, the game has made some pretty major leaps over the years, all spelled out below. I'll also be adding some of the more monumental in-game events and 3rd party offerings to the list.

Know of something missing? Awesome! Let me know and I'll let everyone else know, too. Deal? Deal. And if you are less concerned with the older history and more of the recent stuff you might have missed, check out While You Were Sleeping.

Before we start seeing all the changes over the years, let's first imagine going back over three years. Here's the game: You have 12 pouch spaces (30 if you subscribe to a Pro account). You can drop exactly 1 item at each place around you and you can't just pick up an item (you must swap). You can't lock items. There is no Recycling, so you get really good at mixing to free up space. Two primary colored eggs? Mix em! Who cares? You have no friends and no way to trade. There is no in-game messaging, chat, or forums. There are no Uniques. There is only one store with 9 items. There is no Market. There are no 3rd party apps to help you discover items or get notified about drops… and no in-app notifications, either. There are 30 place categories, and the next drop might be at a Bridge or a Government Building - do you even know where the closest bridge is? Are you ready to play? Good! Because an item dropped 2 hours ago and you missed it! No SD for you. But if you don't dawdle over your dinner, you'll probably get a DD. But it'll feel like getting a QD does now.
